Founded in the year 2005, SpiceJet is the country’s fourth-largest carrier headquartered in Gurgaon. It is an Indian low-cost carrier which operates from primary hubs at Chennai International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport and a secondary hub at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. SpiceJet offers free checked baggage allowance of 15 kgs per passenger per flight for all domestic. It does not accept responsibility for perishable, unsuitably packed, fragile or damaged baggage or for lesser damage to the exterior of baggage resulting from normal wear and tear or for water damage to non-waterproof baggage. No cabin baggage is allowed strictly on any flights originating from Srinagar and Jammu airports due to many airport security regulations.

No free check-in baggage allowance shall be permitted for hand Baggage only fare. Passengers who acquire this fare but have check-in baggage will be charged. Hand-baggage is not permitted on board for the flights arriving from Jammu and Srinagar. Passengers are allowed to check-in seven kg of check-in baggage at free of cost, beyond it the mentioned fare shall be chargeable to the passenger. Please note that clubbing of hand baggage is not permissible in carry-on baggage and total weight of a bag has to be only 7 kgs. In the cabin provided, duty free items of upto 3 kgs can be carried.

Cabin baggage of maximum 7 kg which would include Laptop and duty free shopping bags must have an overall dimension of 115 cms. Passengers with infants are permitted to carry an additional piece of hand baggage of maximum 7 kg but not exceeding the size dimensions, as mentioned. For each one-way journey, excess baggage will be charged at Rs.300/Kg. Any kind of excess baggage which is beyond the permissible baggage allowance limit will be charged with rates that will vary from sector to sector. However, In case of international Flights, the dimensions of checked-in baggage must not exceed 158 cms and each bag shall not be more than 32 kgs of weight.
